Len Miller and Lindsey Hall are two of the most dedicated and successful solicitors operating in this specialist area of law. Having acted primarily for Police and Crime Commissioners they now represent all senior police officers from Superintendent to Chief Constable.
Len has been involved with the police service for over 46 years. Joining Cleveland Police at the age of 19, he rose through the ranks to become Chief Superintendent in 1996 before retiring in 2002 after 33 years' service.
He went on to qualify as a solicitor, joining the legal team at North Yorkshire Police in 2005 and subsequently transferring to the North Yorkshire Police Authority in 2009 to provide advice and representation in chief officer discipline matters. In 2012 he was head hunted by the Cleveland Police Authority to deal exclusively with senior police officer discipline: a practice that has continued to date with the present Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland in addition to secondments to other Police and Crime Commissioners. Over the years Len has built up close working relationships with the leading counsel who practice in this field, as well as positive relationships with the IPCC who are almost always involved in such matters. He is available to act for senior officers (whether superintending or chief officer ranks) or for PCCs.
